The conservative approach to criminal justice:
fighting crime, supporting victims, and protecting taxpayers.

“Big Brother on the Beat” by Ed Meese

The Texas Review of Law & Politics has given Right On Crime permission to post a classic article from it’s inaugural issue in 1997. The article is by Right On Crime signatory Ed Meese, and it is titled “Big Brother on the Beat: The Expanding Federalization of Crime.” Unfortunately, in the fifteen years since the article was published, the nation has seen very little progress on the overfederalization front.

RIGHT ON CRIME is a national campaign to promote successful, conservative solutions on American criminal justice policy—reforming the system to ensure public safety, shrink government, and save taxpayers money. By sharing research and policy ideas and mobilizing strong conservative voices, we work to raise awareness of the growing support for effective reforms within the conservative movement. We are transforming the debate on criminal justice in America.
