Right on Crime Development Administrator

Description:

The Texas Public Policy Foundation is hiring a Development Administrator to expand our fundraising efforts. The primary goals of the position are to support fundraising, grants administration, and events for our Right on Crime initiative; and to support the Foundation’s broader fundraising activities. The Development Administrator must have a fierce commitment to quality, attention to detail, excellent people skills, and a team-player attitude.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage all Right on Crime grants, including tracking of grant deliverables, ensuring timely and accurate reporting, and identifying prospective donors.
  • Work with TPPF events team to manage and execute all Right on Crime events. Events range from private policymaker briefings to high-profile legislative summits and outreach events with hundreds of guests.
  • Provide administrative support to the Foundation’s development team, including conducting donor research, daily donation processing, thank you letter creation and processing, administration of mailings, compiling meeting materials, logistical planning, data entry, and other duties as assigned.
  • Assist in other fundraising activities as needed and assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Strong sense of customer service.
  • Reliable and dedicated.
  • Willingness to travel when needed.
  • Experience with Raiser’s Edge and Basecamp is ideal.
  • Intermediate to Expert knowledge with Microsoft Office Package, including but not limited to: Outlook, Word, Publisher, and Excel programs.
  • Must be able to multi-task and re-arrange priorities when necessary.
  • Strong writing skills are helpful.
  • Previous experience working in a robust fundraising department is helpful.
  • Graphic design skills are a plus.

 

Oklahoma Communications and Policy Coordinator

Description:

The position will help develop the communications and policy strategy for Right on Crime in Oklahoma alongside the State Director in Oklahoma. The above goal will include maximizing Right on Crime’s presence in the Oklahoma State Capitol and with the public at large. The Communications and Policy Coordinator’s subject area focus will be juvenile corrections issues, as well as adult corrections,  victim empowerment, and overcriminalization, for the Foundation and its Right on Crime initiative. The goals of Texas Public Policy Foundation’s Right on Crime initiative are enhancing public safety, empowering victims, reducing costs to taxpayers, and limiting the scope of criminal law to wrongful conduct. Right on Crime has worked closely with policymakers in Oklahoma and across the nation to develop and implement cost-effective alternatives to incarceration that also reduce crime, restore victims, and strengthen families and communities.

The position will report to the State Director for Oklahoma and the Manager for State Initiatives. The position is full-time and it is preferred you live in or around Oklahoma City, OK but is not required.

Responsibilities and Duties include:

  • Develop messaging alongside the State Director of Oklahoma and the Manager of State Initiatives
  • Develop strategic messaging for social media platforms
  • Develop press releases and summaries of policy issues
  • Help develop relationships with lawmakers, stakeholders, and members of the media
  • Help coordinate radio/TV interviews, press conferences, and other speaking engagements
  • Help maintain multiple online advertising campaigns, including Facebook, Twitter, etc.
  • Create graphic content to be used on social media
  • Develop weekly or bi-weekly newsletter for dissemination to public and lawmakers
  • Possibly testify if the State Director is not available

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree; graduate degree in law, public affairs, communications, criminal justice, or another relevant field preferred
  • Work experience in social media, communications, or campaigns a plus
  • Knowledge of criminal justice reform a plus
  • Superb writing skills
  • Detail oriented
