(Atlanta, GA) Right On Crime, a national criminal justice initiative of the Texas Public Policy Foundation, proudly announces its expansion into Georgia and the hiring of Frank Russo as the organization’s new Georgia State Director. With an accomplished background in public safety and legislative policy, Russo will lead efforts to advance conservative criminal justice solutions that reduce crime and strengthen communities in Georgia.

Russo brings a wealth of experience from both national and state-level criminal justice leadership. He is currently also serving as the Vice President of Modern Fortis, a strategic political and advocacy firm and prior to that role was the Associate General Counsel and a Policy Director at the Conservative Political Action Coalition (CPAC). Preceding these positions, Frank was the Director of Government and Legislative Affairs at the National District Attorneys Association, where he helped draft and advance legislation to improve public safety outcomes across the country. His background also includes time on Capitol Hill, working with the House Judiciary Committee under Representative Bob Goodlatte of Virginia and with the Senate Judiciary Committee under Senator Ted Cruz of Texas.

“Frank is a nationally respected voice for public safety and principled policy change,” said Brett Tolman, former U.S. Attorney and Executive Director of Right On Crime. “His expertise marks an exciting new chapter for Right On Crime as we bring our model to Georgia. We’re proud to have Frank at the helm as we work with lawmakers, prosecutors, and community leaders to build safer neighborhoods and a more accountable justice system.”

“I’m honored to lead Right On Crime’s work in Georgia,” said Russo. “We have an opportunity to ensure our state’s justice system is smart on crime, tough on violent offenders, and focused on reducing recidivism. Georgians deserve a system that protects communities while reflecting the conservative principles of accountability, limited government, and second chances.”

In his prior roles, Russo has testified before the United States Congress, the federal judiciary, and multiple state legislatures. His commentary and analysis have appeared in the Atlanta Journal-ConstitutionWashington PostNewsmaxDaily Caller, and Austin American-Statesman. He holds a law degree from the Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law, and is licensed to practice law in Georgia.

Russo lives in Woodstock, Georgia, with his wife Kirby, their two sons Ford and Hayes, and their rescue dog Stella. A proud University of Georgia alumnus, he and his family spend fall weekends cheering on the Bulldogs and enjoying the natural beauty of Cherokee County’s parks.
