(Frankfurt, KY) – Right On Crime announces the addition of Joey Comley, a highly accomplished and experienced criminal law practitioner, as the Kentucky Director of Right On Crime, a national criminal justice campaign of the Texas Public Policy Foundation.

With an impressive two decades of work within the legal and military justice systems, Comley brings a wealth of expertise to his new role at Right On Crime. As the Chief of Military Justice for the U.S. Army’s V Corps, he designed a comprehensive military criminal and administrative jurisdiction that spanned the European Theater, enabling Fort Knox-based units to maintain military order and discipline effectively. Comley’s time spent both prosecuting and defending soldiers as a Judge Advocate, as well as prosecuting civilians entering military bases as a Special Assistant to the United States Attorney’s Office, showcases his versatility and proficiency within the legal field.

“Joey Comley’s extensive legal background and his commitment to upholding justice make him an invaluable addition to our team,” said Brett Tolman, former U.S. Attorney and Executive Director at Right On Crime. “His experience in military justice, complex government investigations, and general litigation aligns perfectly with our organization’s mission to advocate for smarter, more effective criminal justice policies.”

Comley, a Kentucky native, chose to return to his roots upon retiring from the Army in 2022. He currently operates a private practice in Elizabethtown, specializing in military criminal defense and complex government investigations.

“My commitment to upholding justice and supporting our community aligns seamlessly with the organization’s objectives, and I look forward to the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.”

In addition to his professional endeavors, Comley is a devoted family man. He and his wife, Erika, married in 2002 and are parents to three children, JJ (20), Carter (15), and Sienna (13). The Comley family is actively involved in Grace Heartland Church, and they all share a love for community engagement.
